The 2011 summer macro catch up part 1

Admittedly, I have been poor at updating this website so after nothing for a couple of months, here's two posts in two days! I have not been as active with the macro lens this year as I would have liked but I have got a few new images during the summer months and I will share these over the next few posts.

Four Spotted Chaser - this was one of the targets this year but I still have that annoying feeling that I am still yet to get the image of this species that I want. I will now have to wait until next year.....

Black Tailed Skimmer - again these are a subject I have'nt done justice to and whilst I saw a few this summer, each one proved very elusive for the camera. I ended up crawling through soil to get this low angle close-up.....

Green Tiger Beetle - this species is normally elusive and rarely allows close approach. So I was very surprised when this individual jumped on to my foot when trying to photograph some damselflies. It quickly jumped off into vegetation but amazingly posed for me to snap a few frames.

Blue Tailed Damselfly (top image below) and Common Blue Damselfly (bottom image below) are always worth some camera time.....
