Damselflies at dinnertime

Damselflies are such a dainty insect it is hard to believe that they are lethal carnivorous predators who can hunt and kill prey of considerable relative size. Over the past couple of years I have managed to capture a couple of images of these insects whilst they are eating so thought I would share them with you. The first 3 images are of Blue-tailed Damselflies (Ischnura elegans). The final image is of a Common Blue Damselfly (Enallagma cyathigerum). Click on any of the images to see a large version.
