Gulls on Patrol

On Staple Island and Inner Farne, Lesser Black Backed Gulls and Black Headed Gulls were patrolling the Puffin colonies trying to ambush them as they came into land and trying to pick off any youngsters.

I thought I would try and capture an image which portrayed these birds on the lookout for their prey and liked the look of this Lesser Black Backed Gull, which is also a new species for the bird photography portfolio, with the Puffin colony in the background just visible as a black and white (and orange) blur.
